A Puff-ball at Lydney Docks

Here is a slightly chewed up Puff-ball, very tasty. But, I left it. What a stupid idiot?????????

Cygnet at the Marshes, Lydney

This cygnet was chased by the larger of two adults, male. The cygnet was all alone, it must have been chased off, probably by his father. It kept low in the bank, 5 meters from myself. I was heavily camouflaged, so he didn't know I was there. I had waited for at least an hour, before it got up and went back in the water. I hope it will be alright.

Small Copper butterfly at The Marshes, Lydney

It was a dull and dreary day, but I had to show this insect, mainly because I didn't show one before. It is the least picturesque of my butterfly collection, and the photograph wasn't that great.

Thursday 28 August 2008

Bar-headed Goose at Lydney boating lake

It is a dreadful day, just like it was yesterday, and the day before. This, you'll understand, why I have been digging deep into the many postings.

The Cinnabar caterpillar on Ragwort

The Cinnabar chrysalis turns out to be a real feeder, in this instant it eats all of the Ragwort. I wouldn't get too close, it may be your turn!

Tuesday 26 August 2008

Kestrel in the Forest of Dean

It was an awful day, cloudy and damp. I have delved into my archive and found this Kestrel.

Sunday 24 August 2008

Jackdaws at Lydney

What a day it's been, lots of sunlight and a bit windy. So, there is my weather forecast, or should it have been unweather? Don't I keep rambling on!

Saturday 23 August 2008

Crab Apples at Parkend

I remember eating those when I was young. That was horrible, the taste was dreadful. Yuk!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kingfisher on the canal at Lydney

It was really good of him, unfortunately, it wasn't a great photo. But, it will go down as "could have been better".

Wednesday 20 August 2008

Red Admiral at Lydney lake

This is slightly unkept. It moved a lot, seems it is suffering from a local disease. No, I am joking.

Monday 18 August 2008

New Fancy View

This is a tablet that you will find when you go there, it's getting hard to read. So read it now!

Sunday 17 August 2008

Jay. A regal bird.

I know that I've pictured this one before, but it was very nice. It wasn't taken today, but it needed it, what with all the bad weather.

Saturday 16 August 2008

Ruddy Darter at Lydney

It has been raining for most of the day. But you must go on photographing. Does that sound quite right?

Friday 15 August 2008

Fallow Deer's at Foxes Bridge

I like those animals, they're beautiful. It is not the best of pictures, but its a lot better than I can manage.

Wednesday 13 August 2008

Common Darter Dragonfly at Lydney Park

I told you that this week was going to be a rotten one. This morning, was a tremendous storm and with the wind, 57 kmh, it was enough to blow yourself over. This afternoon wasn't any better, but there was a little sunshine in between the showers. I went to yesterdays archive for the Common Darter.

Tuesday 12 August 2008

Whitethroat at Naas Lane, Lydney

This is a surprise, just sitting with nothing to do, when suddenly there was a bird. I thought that we were due a time of heavy rain, in fact it was showery. Good, I think.

Monday 11 August 2008

Blue Tit at Cannop Ponds

It's not a very good day, neither is the whole week. I'll have to try and talk, um, I'm not very good at that. I will try though.

Friday 8 August 2008

Thursday 7 August 2008

Dipper at Cannop Ponds or near to.

The Dipper was the first that I had photographed. But, it was a bad day and I had small lens. Never mind, I'll try again, and preferably a better lens.

Wednesday 6 August 2008

Eider Duck

I wasn't a blogger today, I had other to think about. But, I'll show you this bird.

Sunday 3 August 2008

Peacock butterfly at Lydney Recreation Grounds

The Buddleia are blossoming with the Peacock butterflies. Thats good, for a moment it looks like they weren't coming at all! It must be the weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday 2 August 2008

Bracket fungus in the Forest of Dean

There are plenty of them in the Forest, but you can't see them because they are deep inside of the woods. Also, they don't live very long, as they shrivel up and fade away.

Friday 1 August 2008

Magpie at Lydney

There isn't a lot of birds at the moment, a sort of quietness of birds noises. Plus, it's a bit unkind on the weather station. What am I talking about!
